During EDMbiz Conference and Expo
Pasquale Rotella, CEO and Founder of Insomniac, revealed on June 16th, the total monies raised during the 2016 EDC Week Charity Auction during a special check presentation to The Shade Tree during the EDMbiz Conference and Expo.
“EDC Week Charity Auction” raised an incredible $119,941.49
Insomniac’s second annual “EDC Week Charity Auction” came to a close on Thursday, May 12. Fans across the country were given 16 days to bid on the auction’s once-in-a-lifetime experiences, such as passes to every Insomniac festival for an entire year, hanging out with Pasquale Rotella in his cabana, dropping the first track at EDC Las Vegas, weekend access to the EDC artist area, an EDC Snapchat takeover, an exclusive tour of EDC and the chance to propose on stage during the festival. In addition, Insomniac teamed up with some of the world’s top dance music artists to offer Headliners unbelievable experiences such as an Art Car joyride with Kaskade, dining with Paul Oakenfold, pizza making with Zomboy, beer pong with W&W backstage, zip lining with Dada Life, a GTA hangout at ARIA Resort & Casino, Exotics Racing with Marshmello and much more.
All of the proceeds raised by the EDC Week Charity Auction were donated to The Shade Tree, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women, children and their pets affected by domestic violence and crisis in the Las Vegas valley. With the money generated from this year’s auction, Insomniac will help redesign The Shade Tree’s Children’s Activity Center (CAC), an arts and education space designed to inspire and encourage a positive and safe atmosphere for the youth at the shelter.
Rotella also revealed this year’s recipients of Insomniac’s Charitable Giving Initiative, who will receive funds generated from this year’s EDC Las Vegas. The recipients include Emergency Medicine Resident Research Fund, the Injured Police Officers Fund and the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Since 2011, Insomniac has donated more than $500,000 to incredible organizations following EDC Las Vegas.
