British Singer/Songwriter known for Paradiso Girls,
G.R.L and the LMFAO song ‘Party Rock Anthem.’
Lauren Bennett is a British singer, dancer, and model. Originally from Kent, England. She began her professional career at 17, when Jimmy Iovine – head of Interscope Records, and Robin Antin – creator of the Pussycat Dolls, saw her at an audition in London. They fell in love with Lauren and asked her to move to Los Angeles immediately. Included in a plethora of successful endeavors, most famed for: “Party Rock Anthem” LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett – the #1 song on U.S. Billboard 100, for six weeks straight. The single went to #1 in 12 countries. Worldwide, it was the third best-selling digital single of 2011 with sales of 9.7 million copies. It is the third best-selling digital song in US. history and stands as one of YouTube’s most viewed videos of all time with over 1.07 Billion views.
In 2009, Bennett became a member of the Paradiso Girls (an Interscope signed group), their debut single “Patron Tequila” featured Lil’ John and Eve, and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Charts, the group also joined LMFAO on the Party Rock Tour.
Later that year, multiple Grammy Award winning artist Ceelo-Green asked Lauren to perform on his album, The Lady Killer. Bennett is featured on the track “Love Gun” which featured in the film, “Date Night” starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey.
Following the Party Rock Anthem success, Lauren once again teamed up with Robin Antin and created a new girl group called, G.R.L. Their self-titled EP, G.R.L. reached international success going platinum in the U.K. and 4X platinum in Australia. Tragically, in September of 2014, as the group was reaching new heights – they were halted by the death of one of their own, Simone Battle. In January 2015, the group released a single in honor of Battle titled “Lighthouse”, and dedicated themselves to raising awareness for mental health issues. In June 2015, the group officially disbanded.
Bennett is now embarking on a new journey, making her own music. She has been working with her brother, Ryan Bennett. He is a young musical genius to say the least and Lauren’s secret weapon. The two of them have been working on her album, producing and recording with real musicians, playing real instruments. Lauren’s knowledge and experience in the business of writing and selling music is priceless. Mix that with her British fuck-it mentality for doing what she’s “supposed to do” as a solo artist and you get a beautifully rare and exciting sound. The combination of her and her brother Ryan, are a force to be reckoned with. Lauren will be releasing her Solo EP this year featuring a mixture or pop, soul, country and rock.
Lauren’s first single is a very personal ballad called ‘Hurricane’ which she wrote in honor of her experiences and in support of the incredible foundation Change Direction. The Change Direction initiative is dedicated to change the culture in America about mental health. Lauren performed for the first time as a solo artist at their 28th Annual Lifesaver’s Gala at the Lincoln Center in NYC on May 3rd 2016. ‘Hurricane’ is now available on iTunes. A percentage of the song’s profits will be going to www.ChangeDirection.org to further raise awareness for mental health.
In August 2016 Lauren and G.R.L released a statement and announced they will be reforming as a trio along with Lauren, original member Natasha Slayton and the addition of new member Jazzy Mejia. The girls are set to perform on Nickelodeon’s Slime Fest in Australia in September. The group is set to enter the studio in Los Angeles in the fall, and are in the planning stages of a G.R.L world tour in 2017.
Lauren has recently released her latest single which is a feature on Guy Furious song ‘Where I Belong'” a funky, house and dancehall fusion track with elements of afro beats.
